Both the sparkling appeal and then sometimes the frustration of being a Fashion Stylist is the amount of treatments, products and samples that are sent to you on a daily basis, free of charge. Before you hate me and stop reading I feel it is my job is to try them, wear them and test them to find the best either for my clients or dare I say myself. In a city where everything and anything is available finding the fabulous within the forgettable can take some dedication.

At Quintessentially our role is to provide an insight and service into the best of the luxury market for our clients that we take very seriously. When it comes to beauty and lifestyle much of my research over the years has focused on a variety of lux hair salons and treatments around London looking for the perfect on trend colour, cut and overall experience with mixed success. Recently I have felt my hair looking over-coloured, slightly frizzy and for someone who likes a bright but natural blonde hair colour beginning to feel well quite frankly a bit normal in the hair department!

Step in or rather jump in the Four hair salon on Conduit Street, Mayfair the brainchild of four female superhero’s of hair colour Brooke Bohan, Maleeka Robb, Charlie Double and Denise Arnold. Four girl’s with four very different personalities but all with just one dream: to make FOUR the number one spot for those seeking the best hairdressing in town in a tranquil atmosphere that is comfortable, relaxed and above all, welcoming. I’m all for girl or should I say women power so I headed down quicker than you can grab a pair of scissors.

With an impressive client list that includes Yasmin Le Bon, Nigella Lawson, Claudia Winklemen, Tess Daly among others; the Four salon knows not only how to colour hair to the latest fashion trends but how to correct colour offering a full colour diagnostic.  The salon itself is welcoming designed over two floors private enough to convey a VIP feel, brilliantly accessible on Conduit Street if you work in W1 with friendly and professional staff. There is also a fabulous beauty room that offers a range of treatments to keep you looking bang on trend or holiday ready.  Later in the morning I spied several women having their nails filed and painted in neon as someone worked on their hair – perfect

I believe in love at first sight when it comes to clothes, products and people. The minute I spoke to my stylist and one of the founders Maleeka Robb I knew it was a forever relationship.  She instantly got a gold star from me for opening the salon before work so I could get my hair done early and for the first time in a long time at a salon I felt I was in the hands of someone that was not only an expert but that she knew exactly what my hair needed without a huge performance.

Maleeka expertly talked about the kind of blonde I should be (she mentioned the key word for me  ‘L.A’– sold!) and also pointed out where I was going wrong as she applied new brighter highlights to my head. The whole process didn’t feel scary, as I trusted Maleeka to get the best results without watching her every minute. Instead I concentrated on catching up with work emails as if I was already in the office.

Having a good blow dry can completely transform your look and over the years I have become more addicted if I want to look my best. I can’t be the only one as the amount of blow dry bars and services popping up all over London has increased over the last couple of years. My stylist Helen Timofti was quick and friendly as she cut my split ends and expertly smoothed my hair into place with a few expert product tips along the way.

As my hair dried, the colour came to life. Gone was the dull over highlighted not so natural colour. Instead my colour was brighter blending to natural tones towards the roots but still with an overall uplift of colour.
I came out of the salon more than happy and ready for the summer season in and out of London. I have already re booked my next treatment which in the end is the true sign of approval.
