Nestled in the vast green fields of Puglia and a stunning celebration of Southern Italy’s farming traditions, Borgo Egnazia is one of Quintessentially’s top wedding destinations for 2018. Both relaxing and romantic, this hotel carries the rural charm of Puglian masserie (farmhouses) whilst retaining the unparalleled luxury of Europe’s finest establishments, making it the perfect venue to host your big day.

Buildings of Borgo Egnazia

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was Borgo Egnazia. It took local architect, Pino Brescia, 10 years to complete the project for he did not just raise a hotel, but an entire village; a series of white walled villas connected by quaint, flower-lined streets, with each stylistic detail symbolic of Puglia’s heritage. As you wander through the maze of this modern-day castle, you will find courtyards adorned with blooming rosemary flowers, hanging baskets with crisp green apples and jars filled to the brim with freshly harvested walnuts.

Borgo Egnazia Terrace

With a total of 45 acres, including the San Domenico Golf Course and Vair Spa, Borgo Egnazia offers multiple options for your Wedding banquet – the large banqueting room, the terraces next to the swimming pools and the village Piazza are all gloriously suited for groups between 50 and up to 300 people. In the centre of the hotel, next to the Piazza, you will also find a charming little church in which you can hold your marriage ceremony. Each of these elements contribute to Brescia’s rural ‘town-like’ design meaning that every corner you turn provides an even more perfect backdrop for your wedding photography needs.

Wedding ceremony at Borgo Egnazi

Along with the most beautiful setting, Borgo Egnazia is completed by the excellence of the food and of the service. Southern Italian cuisine is one of the best in the world, with Puglian specialties including thick, creamy Burrata and homemade olive oil from the hotel gardens, which the Quintessentially Weddings Team suggest serving ‘family-style’ at your reception – in true Italian fashion! At your request, Quintessentially will organise for you and your guests to delve into the beauty of Puglia’s food through experiences such as pizza making masterclasses, mozzarella tastings with top chefs, and regional wine sampling. Can we go now?

A Quintessentially wedding means that even the sky isn’t the limit and when hiring Borgo Egnazia, the same is true. Whether you would like a rooftop barbeque party in a private villa, a traditional fête with food stalls in the grand Piazza or to exclusively transform the seven surrounding beaches into seven different venues, Borgo Egnazia and Quintessentially are dedicated to making your dreams come true.
