COCKTAIL HOUR: Atelier Special

It’s a Thursday, which can only mean one thing. Time to treat yourself to a tipple or two!

And this cocktail hour, may we suggest that you get in on a little of the Weddings Atelier action by shaking up this blend, shared exclusively by The Connaught and Quintessentially Vodka who have collaborated to create a perky and pretty signature pick-me-up for the wedding showcase next week.


You will need

A Champagne coupe glass to serve

15ml Pineapple Infused Quintessentially Vodka (for an easy infusion method, try this)

15ml Lillet Blanc Apertif

15ml Sloe Gin

1 sugar cube

Aromatic Lavender Bitters

Champagne to finish

1 Orange

To make the drink…

1. Soak the sugar cube with some Lavender Bitters

2. Swirl all other ingredients together, and drop in the sugar cube

3. Top up the coupe with Champagne, and garnish with a swirl of orange zest and an edible flower head (optional).

Cocktails, and bespoke blends in particular, have become something of a fixture at many a wedding but this simply means more creativity and irresistible drinks from an ever widening list of caterers now offering this service. Ask your caterer if it’s something they can facilitate, or if they can source a flair bartender who can shake things up a little.

As for the Atelier’s refreshments, as infamous as the rarefied hotel itself is The Connaught’s Coburg bar, which will host a cocktail service in association with Quintessentially Vodka and a lounge to introduce the wedding venue in a multi-sensory pop-up.
